About Mark Dow

Family PictureI live in Eugene, Oregon, with my wife and 2.0 kids.

I work as a reasearch assistant in the Brain Development Lab in the psychology department of the University of Oregon. My research interests involve analysis of functional MRI data, and segmentation of structural MRI images. I write software tools to identify and minimize the effects of various noise sources inherent to fMRI. I also develop tools for automated feature extraction (from 2 and 3-D images), using gradient based operators in scale-space. These tools are used for accurate localization and improved small scale sensitivity of activity gleaned from functional imaging experiments.

For fun I play with my family, take stereo photographs, write graphics programs, make toys, and watch trees grow.
